Moving Forward: Plans for the New Year

I really debated with myself when I should write and share this and where I should post it on the blog.  Part of me thought I should wait until after Christmas but let’s face it, a lot of us are already prepared and ready to go.  And if you aren’t at this point then you are probably scrambling and are currently at Target, so I doubt you are even reading this.  I ended up settling on create because, at its essence, that is what this post is about: creating.  What I plan on building on and with this blog in 2018, the changes you can expect to see and even more.  In a sense, I am so excited for the upcoming year.  I am the most motivated I have been about, well, anything in the longest time thanks to my readers and the communities I’ve joined and I can’t wait to share with you everything I have up my sleeve in 2018.

Probably the first change you can expect to see will be the opening of a webstore that will be right here on the blog.  Everything from temporary tattoos to stickers and other geeky things will be available to shop for right here at  Over the last few months I have slowly been building the store and inventory, and soon it will be officially available to everyone who visits.  In the long term, I hope to carry products from other geeky artists and continue to build a geeky female positive community.  If you have any interest in listing your products on the blog, then you can reach out to me to stay in the loop and the know as I get closer to the launch date.

Coming back will be the guest contributor postings!  I was really passionate about this when I started the blog, but without a more substantial leadership established by me, I let it fall apart.  Now that I have my head out of my ass and seemingly have a grasp on the direction of the content of the blog, I am excited to say that I will be accepting and actively searching for contributors to write posts and articles for the blog as well as collaborating with other established bloggers.

One of the things I am most excited for this 2018 will be the relaunching of the Sparkley Ass Bitch webcomics.  For those who have read and created with me since the initial creation of SAB in 2014 will know that this all started with a webcomic on Tumblr and had grown to the blog you are reading today and the associated Etsy store.  While I have been focusing on that and, well, life, the webcomics fell by the waist side, but I have grown antsy, and the truth is - I really miss drawing my comics.  So they are coming back this 2018, and I can’t wait to start sharing my weird sense of humor with you again!

Not only am I interested in graphic arts, you can expect to see more video post content, primarily focused around trying to run and start your own creative career as well as other motivational topics but I also plan on releasing an accompanying podcast that I am so excited for, and I don’t want to give too much away, but I will say you won’t have to wait too long for it...

I have really been holding off on doing anything like these, but I think it might be time to start sharing some sponsored posts on the blog as well.  They will never be the emphasis of the entire content, and everything will be applicable to the core values of the mission of Sparkley Ass Bitch but I have been approached several times and I think it is a step in the right direction for the growth of the blog but I wanted to be honest with you, my readers.

Finally, with all of the things I mentioned above, you can expect to see a site design overhaul to be better suited for all the newly launching part of the blog but also emphasize and really focus on the UX of the site.  When you come to blog I want you to be comfortable and not completely inundated with information so a big focus throughout all of next year will be tweaking and hopefully perfecting (or as close to that as I can get.)

I am so excited for what the New Year symbolizes and can bring and even more excited to push and grow SAB to new levels I didn’t even think would be possible.  None of these changes would even be happening without the constant support from my loved ones, friends, family and you - my most precious reader.  Thank you.
